How I Work

The first step is for me to meet you, look at your garden and discuss your requirements, ideas and plans. This stage is informal and free of charge within a 20 mile radius of Lewes.
For gardens further away I make a small charge to cover travelling expenses.

During this initial meeting I can show you examples  of my work and complete some preliminary sketches of a new layout to give you some ideas to think about. At this stage it is important to consider your budget, so I can tailor my suggestions to suit.

If you wish to proceed, I then carry out a detailed survey of the garden, from which I will produce scale plans to develop new designs. Smaller border redesigns may only require a few measurements, from which a detailed planting scheme can be produced. Surveys can be carried out during the initial visit or at a follow up appointment.
I can then prepare a full design plan, planting scheme or sketch accordingly and present these with additional visual aids to demonstrate how the project will look on completion. We can confirm the overall budget and as part of this I can recommend contractors for any hard landscaping larger projects.

At our initial meeting, we can discuss your budget and tailor the scale of the project to meet you requirements.  I can give an estimate of my costs for both design work and landscaping, based on a straightforward hourly rate of £12.50 per hour. The overall cost will be dependant on garden size and the work you wish me to undertake, but the figures below give an indication.

Full Garden Surveys
  from £25
Scale Design Plans
  from £150.00
Planting Schemes
  from £75.00
Replanting and Soft Landscaping
  £12.50 per hour

Pergolas are all built to order by the GardenJoy team. A quote together with a photo visual can be given. As an indication the pergola in the design shown above would cost approximately  £350.00.
