Gardening for mental health and well being

Horticulture has been a growing passion of mine for many years and after spending a significant proportion of my working life behind a desk,  I decided to retrain and branch out in a different direction.

I have a specific interest in gardening for well-being and a big part of my drive is to help people enjoy their garden space and to want to spend time in it.  Working with plants, watching them grow and constantly learning has made me realise that the therapeutic benefits of interacting with an outside growing space is vital for a healthy mind.

Maintaining your garden can feel overwhelming when you don’t know where to start and I am keen to start people off and enable them to feel confident in their abilities.

Horticulture is a meaningful occupation and the hope that can arise from seeing a planting plan develop and thrive offers a real mental boost.

Alternatively, you may not have the time or energy to maintain the garden yourself – and I have a real love of weeding!
